Can my neighborhood stop receiving posts from a local agency?
We respect our members' communication preferences, so if you no longer want to see posts from a public agency on your Nextdoor website, you can use the unsubscribe function to stop receiving their content.
Unsubscribing from an agency removes all the content the agency has posted to your neighborhood from your view of Nextdoor. Additionally, you will no longer receive email notifications for this agency's posts or comments. Unsubscribing from an agency will not interrupt other members' ability to view posts authored by the agency.
NOTE: If you unsubscribe from an agency you will no longer receive important information in the case of an emergency, and you will not receive any urgent alerts and private messages the agency sends.
- Click Public Agencies from the left side menu of your Newsfeed.
- Select the Agencies tab.
- Locate and click on the agency in the directory to view their page.
- To unsubscribe, click the Subscribed button under the agency's name. If you ever change your mind and decide that you would like to receive posts from the agency, follow the same steps and click the Subscribe button again.
When using Nextdoor for iPhone, you can mute agency staff if you'd prefer not to hear from them at all. In the "Agency Updates" section of your email settings, you can choose which types of Agency Updates you'd like to receive, or turn them off completely.
