Nextdoor is working to establish partnerships with news organizations to share locally relevant stories we think you'll enjoy. If you don't want to see posts by news organizations, you can unsubscribe from those posts at any time.

1. Why are there posts from news organizations in my Nextdoor neighborhood?

2. Can I unsubscribe from news organization posts?

Yes. To stop seeing posts from a particular news organization on a web browser, click on the name of the organization in the post to visit its page. Next, click on the green Subscribed button under the organization's name.

3. Will news organizations have access to our neighborhood conversations or directory?

Participating news organizations will not have access to your neighborhood conversations or the directory. They can only see and reply to comments on their own posts and reply to private messages members send to them. If a member comments on a news organization’s post, the news organization can only view the member’s first name, last name initial, and neighborhood.

4. Will I get additional emails from news organizations?

No, you will not get any additional emails if you're subscribed to a news organization. If you choose to receive a Daily Digest, articles will be added to these emails.

5. Can members private message news organizations?

Yes. Residents can private message a news organization by going to their news organization’s profile page and selecting Message.

6. If I reply to a news organization post, who will see my reply?

Your reply will be seen by your neighbors, nearby neighbors and the news organization. Because not all Nearby Neighborhoods are connected to each other, there may be some replies to posts from news organizations that you don't see but other members do.

7. What can I do if I see inappropriate messages in replies to posts from news organizations?

At this time, it is not possible to report posts by news organizations or replies to those posts. For now, if you see inappropriate comments, report the member or contact us  so we can resolve the issue. In the future, we plan to add the ability to report replies to posts from news organizations..
