Mute a neighbor

Last Updated: Jul 31, 2017 12:51PM PDT

You can mute any neighbor you're not interested in hearing from. Muting a neighbor hides all their posts from your view of Nextdoor. The muted neighbor will not be notified that you've muted them.

  1. Locate a post by the neighbor you'd like to mute in your Newsfeed.
  2. Click  to the right of the neighbor's name.
  3. Select Mute.
  1. Open the Nextdoor for iPhone app.
  2. Locate a post by the neighbor you'd like to mute.
  3. Tap  to the right of the neighbor's name.
  4. Select Mute.
  1. Open the Nextdoor for Android app.
  2. Locate a post by the neighbor you'd like to mute.
  3. Tap  to the right of the neighbor's name.
  4. Select Mute.

Muting a neighbor does not remove them from the site, nor prevent your neighbors from seeing the muted neighbor's posts. You will no longer receive email notifications for posts or comments by neighbors you've muted.

The muted neighbor will still be able to see your posts on Nextdoor. Additionally, you will continue to receive urgent alerts the muted neighbor posts or private messages they send you. Please report any neighbor who violates the Community Guidelines.
