How can we help you?

Local Real Estate section

Last Updated: Jun 28, 2018 11:02AM PDT

The Real Estate section lets you see homes that are selling or have recently sold in your neighborhood. Currently, Real Estate listings are only available in certain areas, but we’re constantly expanding.

You can find the Real Estate section listed in the left side menu of your Nextdoor homepage.

On the web, you can see listings on a map in your neighborhood, as well as in a list to the right. Zoom out on the map to see listings in your area outside of your neighborhood. You can also choose different filters for your listings search in the upper right corner of the screen. Filters include ‘For sale,’ ‘Pending,’ and ‘Sold’ as well as ‘Most relevant first,’ ‘Newest first,’ and ‘Closest first.’

You may also see a ‘Neighborhood Sponsor’ paired with the real estate content on Nextdoor. Your Neighborhood Sponsor is a real estate agent who is available to you for any home-related questions you might have.

Some questions you can ask your Neighborhood Sponsor include:

  • How are new homes selling in my neighborhood?
  • Can you let me know the value of my home?
  • What is the best time to buy or sell a home?

Real estate agents can see and respond to the private messages you send them, but agent accounts don’t have access to your neighborhood newsfeed, profile, or other conversations on Nextdoor. Your Nextdoor website is still completely private to you and your neighbors.

You can't opt out of the Real Estate section, but you are able to hide listings that show up in your newsfeed by clicking the x in the upper right corner of the listings box.

If you’re a real estate agent and want to learn more about Neighborhood Sponsorship click here, or visit realestate.nextdoor.com.

Please note: Only real estate agents can list homes on Nextdoor. The Local Real Estate section does not support homes for sale by owner.

On mobile, you can switch between list view and map view, by tapping ‘list’ or ‘map’ in the upper right corner of the screen.

Click on a listing to see more details about the property. Some pages will have a section to the right showcasing the listing agent. Real Estate agents pay to purchase these branded listings. This feature makes it easy for members to reach out to a listing agent and learn more about agents who sell homes in their local community.

Listings will also be announced in the main newsfeed and in Daily Digest emails on Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays:

This feature is still under development, so we appreciate your feedback as we continue to improve it. If you’d like to provide feedback about the real estate features in your neighborhood, please email us.
